I was shocked to find my little blog mentioned on the very popular Web 2.0 blog Techcrunch.com this week. It seems I was one of the first people to spot a new prototype Google layout. Thanks to Google Blogoscoped you can follow this simple steps to try out the new design for yourself.
- First click the following link: www.google.com/ncr
- Next copy and past the following javascript code into your browsers address bar and hit enter.
Now try doing a Google search, you should have the new layout set in your cookies. If you would like to revert back the normal layout simple clear out your Google cookies.

I was doing some searches tonight and at first I thought I was on the wrong site. It seems Google is testing out a new results page and I was lucky enough to get a first hand peak at it. Hopefully it doesn’t disappear. This is one of the most drastic style changes that Google has ever made. It has a very YouTube inspired look. However, I’m not sure I can get use to all the white space on the left. Has anyone else seen this layout?

This is just a quick rant. About a year and a half ago I lost my domain danbaxter.com that I owned since 1999. I forgot to re-register it and my crappy registrar never sent me any notice that it was about to expire. I found out the hard way when my email started bouncing. So now my old domain now points to another Dan Baxter who’s a Russian Missionary that lives in Moscow. He recently redirected the domain to his new blog worshipthoughts.com. I was once the first result in Google for the term “dan baxter”. Now my myspace profile is ranked 2nd with danbaxter.net 1st and worshipthoughts.com 3rd. It turns out that the owner of danbaxter.net is yet another God loving Christian. This Dan Baxter is from Texas and also wants to goto Russia to spread Gods word?!? What the hell is in Russia and why does every Dan Baxter online want to go there to worship God? I find it all a bit strange. Most people loose there domains to hijackers that post Google ad spam, I lost mine to God..
However, in the end I lucked out and was able to register a trendy web 2.0 version of my name. I’ll continue to blog here at baxtr.com unless a higher power decides to stop me.
